«N. NoVgoRod VR/AR Hack» hackathon

From February 16 to February 18, 2020, in the Nizhny Novgorod Quantorium, the Open Interregional Hackathon “N. NoVgoRod VR / AR Hack" took place. 21 teams of novice developers of virtual and augmented reality applications aged 12 to 17 years from 16 cities of Russia tried their hand at solving cases from hackathon partners. thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS) took part in the event as an official partner.

thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS) provided the participants of the VR-hackathon with a task directly related to the VR-project carried out within the company. This case was as close as possible to real work, so that the hackathon participants could already understand what they would encounter at their work in future. The event organizers praised this move.

For three days, the contestants have been developing a scenario of interaction in case of an emergency at the industrial plant. Invited experts from the partner companies of the event chose the winners in each category. The winner in the case from tkIS (RUS) were the guys from Makhachkala, who did an excellent job and showed themselves perfectly.

The hackathon ending ceremony was opened by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Sergey Zlobin, who noted that virtual and augmented reality technologies, which seemed fantastic only a few years ago, are already tightly entering our lives, and expressed confidence that Hackathon participants will continue to improve their skills and develop their competencies.

The expert from the thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS), senior communications specialist Denis Filimonov, praised the competencies of the hackathon participants and expressed confidence in further cooperation with the Quantorium. “thyssenkrupp has always paid particular attention to developing professional competencies among students and promoting the engineering profession,” he said.

The winners of the hackathon were awarded souvenirs.
