ArcelorMittal Tubarão orders new coke oven battery from thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions
thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has signed a contract with the Brazilian steel producer ArcelorMittal Tubarão for the implementation of a new coke oven battery at ArcelorMittal Tubarão's Tubarão works, close to the Brazilian city Vitoria.
The new coke oven battery no. 4, which comprises 49 coke ovens, will replace an existing battery and will secure the production of 600.000 tons of coke per year.
ArcelorMittal Tubarão highlights the importance of the environmental aspects of the project and has chosen to include the latest technology with regard to environmental protection. For example the new battery will include the latest generation of the thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions' pressure regulation system EnviBAT®, which ensures a visible emission-free coke oven battery operation. A state of the art heating system contributes to the environmental performance of the new battery.
thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions together with its Brazilian affiliate tkIS Brazil will be responsible for the complete engineering, the equipment supply and the civil works. For the refractory and electromechanical erection thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has decided to join forces with the leading Brazilian coke plant construction company RIP.
