Project documentation of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (RUS) for PJSC Corporation "VSPMO-AVISMA" received an approval from the RF State Expert Evaluation Department

In accordance with the investment plan of PJSC Corporation "VSMPO-AVISMA", reconstruction of the carnallite electrolysis unit, operating at the magnesium production site, is planned.

At the moment at the Berezniki site, chlorine gas is used to obtain titanium tetrachloride. Chlorine is coming from the existing magnesium production (electrolysis of carnallite, electrolysis of magnesium chloride). Organization of production at the site of the chloride method of electrolysis of an aqueous solution of rock salt will reduce the cost and technological and production risks and dependence associated with the supply of carnallite to third-party buyers.

In order to implement this project, in 2016 the customer signed an agreement with thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers (tkUCE), which is one of the recognized world leaders in the field of chlorine and caustic production technologies by electrolysis of sodium chloride aqueous solution developed in the Basic Engineering package and Project Documentation.

In 2018, tkUCE signed an agreement with tkIS (RUS) LLC for the development of project documentation and its approval in the RF State Expert Evaluation Department on behalf of the Customer. Development of PD was carried out for 11 months. The documentation received a positive opinion first of the Environmental impact audit, and in March 2020 - of the RF State Expertise. Having the mentioned conclusions, the Customer will receive a building permit before starting construction.

In September 2019, tkIS (RUS) has sent a proposal to the Customer on the development of detail engineering and equipment supply for HVAC, electrical part, a fire water pump and a sewage pump station. Currently, active negotiations with the participation of representatives of the sales department of tkIS RUS are underway to continue the work with the Customer.
